Providing financial support to displaced Sudanese students.
About This Campaign
For many displaced Sudanese students, receiving a university acceptance is only the beginning. After overcoming war, forced displacement, interrupted schooling, and extraordinary personal hardship, many are offered life-changing opportunities to continue their education, only to find that the financial cost places those opportunities beyond their reach.
Scholarships for Sudan is a Najwa Foundation initiative created to help close that gap. The program supports displaced Sudanese students who have been accepted to universities in other countries but face financial barriers that may prevent them from enrolling, relocating, or completing their studies.
Through this initiative, Najwa Foundation raises funds to help eligible students cover essential educational and relocation expenses, including:
* University tuition and fees
* International travel and relocation
* Housing and living expenses
* Visa and residency costs
* Health insurance
* Books and academic supplies
* Technology and transportation
Our current featured student is Mazin Aboalbashar, a displaced Sudanese geologist who has been admitted to the Master’s Degree in Geosciences for the Energy Transition at the University of Barcelona. Through Mazin’s campaign, and the students who will follow, we are working to ensure that displacement and financial hardship do not determine the limits of a student’s future.
Make a Difference
Your contribution can help a displaced Sudanese student move from acceptance to enrollment and from uncertainty to opportunity.
When we invest in displaced students, we are not only funding degrees. We are supporting future educators, scientists, healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs, advocates, and community leaders.
Together, we can ensure that Sudanese students have the opportunity to dream, learn, lead, and build futures beyond displacement.
Why This Matters
The war in Sudan has disrupted education at every level, forcing students from their homes, separating them from their universities, and leaving many without the resources needed to continue their studies. Yet displaced students continue to apply, earn admission, and pursue opportunities despite these circumstances.
A university acceptance should represent the beginning of a new future, not another opportunity lost because of war or poverty.
By supporting Scholarships for Sudan, donors can help promising students transform university admission into an education, a career, and an opportunity to contribute to the rebuilding of their communities.
